The Department of Justice released over 1.3 million files across twelve data sets under the Epstein Files Transparency Act (Public Law 119-38).

Release overview

The initial release on December 19, 2025 included approximately 10,000 files across eight data sets (1-8). A second release on January 30, 2026 added four more data sets (9-12), bringing the total to over 1.3 million files. The DOJ has indicated that additional files may follow as they complete victim-information redactions.

About the disclosure

The Epstein Files Transparency Act required the Attorney General to publicly release all unclassified records relating to Jeffrey Epstein within 30 days. Redactions are permitted only to protect victim identities, remove child sexual abuse material, or shield active federal investigations. Records cannot be withheld solely due to embarrassment or political sensitivity.
